Same but different is perhaps the best way to describe Dior Prestige’s newly reformulated Micro-Huile de Rose Advanced Serum. At first glance, the skincare looks similar, a solid glass bottle of shimmering pink, resembling the colour of the rose, topped with an elegant gold cap. But the updated formula now works even harder and faster to repair and regenerate for younger looking skin.

Backed by 20 years of research, the first generation was launched in 2017 and quickly became a top shelf staple as it delivered firmer, stronger and smoother skin. It uses the exclusive Rose de Granville roses that are created especially for skincare and because they are solely dependent on the year’s harvest, there’s no telling how many bottles can be produced each year and if they run out, you’ll simply have to wait for the next batch. So, what’s new?

Previously, the ultimate reparative serum contained 20 micro-nutrients from the rose itself but the revitalised version now contains 22 concentrated micro-nutrients, with 2 new actives originating from the stem’s sap to further fight nutritional deficiencies and inflammations, making it twice as concentrated as before.

Each bottle holds 10,000 micro-pearls suspended in an essence and on closer examination, you’ll find that they are finer and richer, and still brimming with the goodness of the Rose de Granville. The dual-phase formula is also now even lighter in texture and penetrates more easily. Once dispensed, the micro-pearls melt instantly to bring the nourishing richness of an oil and the corrective power of a serum. And if you had trouble getting that last bit of product out before, the new packaging will now let you pump every last drop out easily.

You’ll want to apply 2 to 3 pumps, twice daily, to bathe the face, neck and décolleté in the pampering formula to visibly correct the signs of ageing. Doesn’t hurt that it smells like a bouquet of fresh roses too.
