It comes without surprise that the Vanity Case has established itself as one of the go-to designs at Chanel, being a hot favourite that is revisited season after season in numerous colours and sizes. You’ve seen the vertical versions in leather and PVC, along with the seasonal variation in woven rattan which is coming back for Cruise 2020. You were also introduced to the Mini Vanity in scaled-down proportions at the recent Spring-Summer 2020 collection, one that flew off the shelves the moment it arrived in stores. But if there’s just one design that’s lasted through the seasons and trends, that would be the original design which was previously known as the CC Filigree.

Today, Chanel calls it the Vanity Case, coming in a boxy silhouette armed with a structured top handle. Each bag bears the unmistakable CC logo right in front and typically comes together with an accompanying shoulder strap and padlock to complete the look. Measuring 21 cm by 16 cm, the Vanity Case is more than just a pretty face (or rather, bag), opening to a roomy interior separated with a central zip pocket. That gives you two compartments to keep your daily essentials well-organised before you zip everything securely shut and carry the bag in one of two ways.

Now, you typically hear of Chanel bags coming in calfskin or lambskin, but the Spring Summer 2020 Vanity Case (SGD8960) is constructed from goatskin, a material known for its lovely sheen that will only look better over time. While it isn’t as soft/silky as its lambskin counterparts, goatskin is known for its durability and strength, making it an excellent option for day-to-day bags like the Vanity Case.
