Watches and Wonders’ online showcase of its 2020 novelties has kicked off, with some like Cartier unveiling exciting new designs on a dedicated website titled Cartier Watchmaking Encounters, and one of the new timepieces to look out for is the brand-new Santos de Cartier ADLC, coming in two stunning variations that are built with the modern-day gentleman in mind.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice that the black rubber strap and ADLC case looks strangely familiar. Well, you can think of it as the perfect amalgamation of two references launched in 2019, this time coming in a sleek new format and at an attractive price point to boot. The QuickSwitch rubber strap (complete with fancy metal screws) was previously spotted on the Santos de Cartier Chronograph, while the black ADLC case was found on the exclusive Santos de Cartier Skeleton.

Combine them and you’re looking at the full black Santos de Cartier, a beautiful piece complete with a jet black dial, a new colour found on the models equipped with Cartier’s in-house 1847MC automatic calibre. This Santos de Cartier comes with an additional QuickSwitch leather strap, so you can easily change it up (all in the comfort of your own home) if you prefer a more formal look in black calfskin leather.

The second reference comes with a brushed grey dial, along with ADLC elements found on the bezel itself, rather than the entire case as seen on the first Santos de Cartier. Instead of an extra black leather strap, this Santos de Cartier will come with the SmartLink stainless steel bracelet, which you can switch around with the accompanying rubber strap as well.

Both models will be launched in the LM size (which stands for Large Model), measuring 47.5 mm by 39.8 mm, with a thickness of 9.38 mm. Prices hover slightly above the 5-digit mark, with the grey dial coming in at SGD10,300, while the full black ADLC is priced slightly higher at SGD10,600. Word has it that both designs will launch locally in May 2020, but stay tuned for more information on the official date, as well as its availability on Cartier Singapore’s online store.
