Think of Loewe and a number of iconic bags immediately come to mind. There’s the Puzzle, one of the very first designs created by Jonathan Anderson when he took on the role as Creative Director, as well as signature silhouettes like the Gate and Hammock that’s considered two of the newer designs at the Spanish luxury brand. Not forgetting evergreen classics like the Amazona and Flamenco, all of which are available in classic, timeless hues that will last for seasons to come.
Today, an all-new design officially joins the family, one that features a structured rigid frame that’s reminiscent of elegant handbag styles of the past. Its boxy silhouette takes inspiration from a traditional postcard (which also explains why the bag is named as such), crafted from soft natural calf leather and finished with Loewe’s Anagram logo right at the corner to give it a stamp-like appearance.
In addition, the Postal comes in a wide variety of options ranging from solid-coloured hues (Black, Pale Green, Pastel Pink and Tan, just to name a few) to exclusive designs that feature gorgeous illustrations of major cityscapes. These include bags that feature London, Madrid and Paris that are available for sale now, whereas Beijing, Hong Kong, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo will be launched in several drops to coincide with the store openings in the respective cities throughout the rest of the year.
Looks aside, there are currently two sizes that are up for your consideration. The original Postal measures 21 cm across by 14.5 cm high, which frankly works as a great daily bag for most. But for those looking for an elegant piece that doubles up as a dainty evening bag, you can consider the Postal Small, which comes in at 17 cm by 13.5 cm and is as cute as a button. Both sizes come with an additional shoulder strap (with adjustable lengths ranging from 129 cm to 137 cm) that gives you the added option of slinging the bag over the shoulder or across the body for that handsfree look. Priced from SGD3100, the Postal is now available across all Loewe boutiques in Singapore.
