Louis Vuitton has unveiled its latest campaign that showcases 3 of the luxury house’s ‘new classics’ bags, the Capucines, the Dauphine and the Twist, carried by ambassadors, Emma Stone, Léa Seydoux and Alicia Vikander respectively. The ladies are renowned actresses, famed for their portrayal of strong, independent characters in award-winning films. Their persona, attitude, and appeal are perfect descriptives for these timeless pieces, a match, some might say, made in bag heaven.

Starting with the Capucines PM (SGD6900), it is one that comes in a bright and bold Scarlet Red, carried by Academy Award winner, Emma Stone. It’s named after the Rue des Capucines in Paris (the location where Monsieur Louis Vuitton opened his very first boutique in 1854), with geometrical lines and a trapezoid-shaped body for a sleek and elegant silhouette. It also helps that the bag comes in a soft and supple Taurillon leather that’s lightweight in nature, making it a great bag for the everyday.

Measuring 31.5 cm by 20 cm, you can keep your daily essentials nice and neat within two roomy inner compartments separated by a central leather spine. Finished with gold-tone hardware, the Capucines PM can be carried by hand or hung from the elbow via the semi-rigid top handle. Alternatively, you can attach the removable strap and carry it over the shoulder or across the body for a hands-free look.

The Dauphine MM (SGD3950), on the other hand, is actually inspired by a 1976 model of the very same name, now rendered in a Monogram/Monogram Reverse canvas and finished with smooth tan calfskin trimming. Measuring 25 cm by 17 cm, the Dauphine MM comes with a smart leather strap that can be worn long off the shoulder (as seen on Léa Seydoux) or looped twice for a shorter under-the-arm look, and opens to 2 inner compartments with an additional zipped pocket to fit everything you need from day to night. Not only does the hexagonal-link chain give the bag an extra edge, it can also be used as a chain strap, giving the bag an alternative look that’s perfect for nights when you could do with the extra bling.

The third bag is none other than the Twist PM (SGD4450), a timeless piece that’s furnished with contemporary detailing like the special lock that opens by twisting the ‘L’ to form the ‘V’ and a convertible chain handle that can be worn in multiple ways. The architectural wave base will give you extra space for your daily necessities and even comes with a removable pocket mirror for all your touch-ups on the go. The classic piece carried by Alicia Vikander comes in Louis Vuitton’s signature Epi leather, a sturdy material that’s also scratch-and-water-resistant, making it a practical handbag that’s built for all your daily adventures.
