Sure, some of Gucci’s Fall-Winter 2018 show-stoppers included baby dragons and human heads, but the true statement pieces from the show were the gorgeous bags that came down the runway (no wait, operating theatre). There were, after all, 90 different looks, with a good number of noteworthy pieces such as the Globe-Trotter trunk, as well as this Laminated Leather Mini Bag that comes in a bright, glossy and oh-so-shimmery exterior.
Measuring 18 cm by 13.5 cm, the Laminated Leather Mini Bag (SGD1640) comes in a matelassé metallic leather exterior in 3 different combinations such as Blue/Red, Blue/Pink and Green/Pink. On the interior, the bag is lined in a gorgeous floral prints, equipped with two internal card slots, as well as a detachable internal hook.
Another point of note? It features an all-new hybrid logo that combines two of Gucci’s signature house icons. Named simply as the Interlocking G Horsebit, it is a combination of the interlocking GG logo sitting between their horsebit detailing that looks set to be an icon in its own right over time.
Having taken it out for a spin, there are some other plus points that you wouldn’t know just by looking at the pic. For one, it’s incredibly lightweight, which is always a good thing especially if you’re all about grab-and-go. Two, the bag comes with a braided leather strap that can be adjusted, allowing you to wear it in one of two ways – across the body or over the shoulder like a top handle bag. The good news? It is now available at Gucci boutiques islandwide.
