Jacquemus Le Sac Chiquito

There are bags that are built for function, those that go from day to night whilst allowing you to carry everything but the kitchen sink as you move from the office table to the yoga mat. And then there are bags like this tiny little number from Jacquemus that’s frankly more a cute accessory than anything else. In other words, it’s not a bag, but really, more like a toy.

Coming in at just 12 cm by 6 cm, Jacquemus calls this a microbag and it comes in either leather or suede options that are handcrafted in Italy. Simon Porte Jacquemus has always been known for his clever play on proportions, as seen on the oversized hats the label has been sending down its runways season after season. With the Le Sac Chiquito (with chiquito also meaning tiny, by the way), you can expect a similar play, with the single top handle sitting on the front flap being almost taller than the bag’s actual height.

You can carry the Le Sac Chiquito in a number of ways. Slide the bag over the elbow or wrist, or carry it across your body with an extra shoulder strap if you’re all about heading out handsfree. Or you can carry it like how Rihanna did, by toting it via its single top handle. Available at SSENSE for USD545, or SGD730 over at FarFetch, it also comes in a wide array of colours for you to choose from. Question is, you definitely don’t need it, so is it a want?
