Steven Meisel is a fashion photographer famed for creating stunning imagery, with words like ‘breathtaking’, ‘extraordinary’ and ‘groundbreaking’ frequently used to describe his work. Which is precisely why brands like Loewe love working with him. For those who don’t already know, the Spanish luxury label has an ongoing collaboration with Steven Meisel, who has photographed every single campaign for the brand since 2014, including these images featured in Loewe’s Fall-Winter 2017 campaign, which have been translated into a limited-edition linen tabletop set.
Housed in a specially created box, you’ll find a table cloth with 4 place mats and napkins decorated with 9 different images from Steven Meisel’s series of artworks titled Compositions. Each piece comes printed with its own set of objects (no two pieces feature the same composition) that’s laid out on a transparent table against a painted cloudscape backdrop to give it a surrealist vibe.
Laying all the pieces out leads to a frame within a frame within a frame; the napkin sits on the place mat which is then placed on the table cloth. In other words, it’s a great conversation starter at any dinner gathering. Priced at SGD1150 a set, they will be released worldwide on 25 September 2017, with Singapore’s CASA Loewe Paragon getting a small allotment of these limited edition numbered sets.
In the meantime, you can start getting chic plates and cutlery to prepare for that picture-perfect flat lay you’ve always been waiting for.
When you mix Loewe, J.W. Anderson and Steven Meisel, you get marvellous things.
