Everyone was waiting for that rocket to take off back in March when Chanel presented its Fall-Winter 2017 show at the Grand Palais for Paris Fashion Week. And when it finally did take off, everyone held their breaths. And broke out in rapturous applause. It was truly breathtaking and a testament that you can always count on Karl Lagerfeld to make each Chanel show the most memorable of experiences.

And after months of anticipation, the rocket has landed in Singapore. No, just kidding, but pieces from the F/W17 collection are now available at Chanel’s Ephemeral Boutique in Marina Bay Sands, as the boutique refreshes itself with space-themed RTW, bags, shoes and accessories for your shopping pleasure. Aside from the glittery knee-high boots that made an appearance on almost every model striding down the runway, it was the bags and accessories that truly stole the show, coming in bold iridescent colours and eye-catching silhouettes.

At the very top, there’s the Gabrielle Hobo Bag (SGD5940) in a metallic purple gradient over the calfskin body that’s finished with iridescent hardware. Gorgeous. The season’s special also appears within, in the form of the Space Shuttle Minaudière (SGD19,510, 23 cm by 12 cm) that comes in a resin and brass body. And if you thought that moon-shaped sparkle was just for illustration purposes, it is actually a fashion jewellery piece. Essentially a metal brooch (SGD760) furnished with strass ruthenium and crystal embellishments, this sparkly treat will look perfect on a tweed jacket. Or a plain tee.

Moving on, more bags appear. There’s a Red/Pink Gabrielle, alongside a quilted evening bag. Two brooches make an appearance too, in the shape of a shooting star and a planet, both covered in glittered resin and strass. Colourful and statement-making, these brooches will retail at SGD860 each, and will be made available at the Ephemeral Boutique as well.

Last but no means least, there’s the iridescent evening bag in the shape of a planet that’s hot off the runway (20 cm by 19 cm). Stunning. The tweed Flap Bag (SGD4050) that’s finished with a nylon base, on the other hand, is perfect for the day and comes in a 26 cm by 13 cm body that’s finished in more neutral tones of Black/Navy/Red/White. Pair them with a brooch (SGD1290) that rounds up the lot, and you’re a sparkly star that’s a winner in the accessories department.

If you’ve been wondering about those knee-high sparklers, they are priced at SGD2280 a pair, with a shorter boot variation coming in at SGD2030. And yes, everything is available now at Chanel’s Ephemeral Boutique at Marina Bay Sands.
