You often hear of collaborations between artists and designers who typically spin alternative versions of classic timepieces, but this is one of the rare few Bulgari partnerships that’s actually inspired by the world of sailing.
Meet the Bulgari Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition Watch, a contemporary timepiece which pays homage to the Italian navy’s Amerigo Vespucci training ship, with 5 important facts to know about this limited-edition timepiece.

01 – The watch’s colour palette is a fitting tribute to the Italian vessel, evident in two 12-hour zones in black and yellow that mimic the deep black gilded railings of the Amerigo Vespucci training ship. The contrasting hues also help to differentiate between day and night, and the hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova to glow like stars in the sky.
02 – This unique timepiece is finished with black DLC-coated titanium at the back, and it comes engraved with the ship’s name “Nave Scuola Amerigo Vespucci” and its accompanying motto “NON CHI COMINCIA MA QUEL CHE PERSEVERA” in an oversized bold font.
03 – Available in a single size that’s perfect for all your everyday adventures, the Bulgari Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition Watch comes in a 40 mm aluminium case, complete with a matching black rubber bezel and strap.
04 – Powered by the mechanical self-winding BVL Calibre 192 movement, this timepiece sports an extra GMT (for a second time zone indication) function aside from the standard hours, minutes, seconds and date display. It also has a 50-hour power reserve and remains water-resistant up to 100m.
05 – Limited to only 1000 editions, the Bulgari Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition Watch has officially launched at Bulgari boutiques in ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Department Store.
