Simon Porte Jacquemus built a career on turning small, sunny gestures into desirable objects. His partnership with Timberland shows the method rather well. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the Jacquemus + Timberland collaboration takes Timberland’s signature 3-Eye Lug boat shoe and switches up its mood.

The shoe first appeared in a banana yellow hue that Jacquemus personally picked. That debut colourway sold out quickly, but new follow-ups arrived soon after. A turquoise nubuck version lands alongside crocodile-embossed iterations in navy and multi-brown.

Both Jacquemus + Timberland croc-embossed pairs make texture the centrepiece. The navy model wraps its entire upper in the croc motif. Contrasting white stitching around the toe and silver-tone hardware on the eyelets and lace tips sharpen the look. The multi-brown pair, meanwhile, layers croc-embossed leather, nubuck and smooth leather. Banana yellow detailing on the laces and midsole adds another pop of colour.

Under the new finishes, the boat shoe’s DNA stays intact. The rugged rubber outsole, soft leather lining and padded collar that made the original a staple remain. They blend Timberland’s classic elements of comfort and durability with a dressier sensibility courtesy of Jacquemus. Perfect for autumn dressing, the shoes pair best with warm browns, creamy neutrals and supple materials.

All three Jacquemus + Timberland boat shoe styles come in unisex sizes from 37 to 47. The turquoise nubuck pair retails at USD315, while both croc-embossed styles go for USD405. More refinement than reinvention, the collaboration proves a classic only needs a fresh eye to feel new.
