Now that you have seen Chanel Beauty’s main holiday drop, consider The Chanel Chalet, its limited-edition companion piece. The collector’s box opens to a stunning gold-and-white backdrop, splashed with the house’s script logo. The inspiration comes from Gabrielle Chanel’s winter retreats in the mountains, turning a piece of brand history into the ultimate seasonal keepsake.
The case opens to 10 compartments, encasing both beauty products and intricate Chanel-themed tree decorations. A full-sized 100 ML bottle of the classic N°5 Eau de Parfum leads the way. Chanel’s best-known scent features rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang, lifted by aldehydes and warmed by vanilla. Another fragrance, Les Eaux de Chanel — St Moritz in a 125 ML bottle, is the newest addition. It pairs a fruity pear accord with rose and a musky-amber base.
Other fragrance products in The Chanel Chalet also include the Coco Mademoiselle Purse Spray. The jewellery-style refillable atomiser let you top up the scent during the day. The Les Exclusifs de Chanel Comète Body Oil further extends the fragrance’s cherry blossom, musk and iris notes. It comes in a full 250 ML bottle.
The collection then rounds out with four holiday makeup pieces. Two 31 Le Rouge lipsticks come in Rouge Féérie and Rose Enchanté. They sit alongside the Neige d’Or illuminating powder and Les 4 Ombres in Ombre d’Or, an eyeshadow palette inspired by snow glittering at dusk. Several of these also come in white pouches or sleeves trimmed in gold.
Planning to deck out your tree with extra fancy Chanel decorations? Well, this year, The Chanel Chalet includes five tree ornaments made by artisans in France. These include a hammered metal ornament with 0.5-micron gold plating. A glass bauble, blown by La Rochère, one of France’s oldest glassmakers, carries a snowy design and the Chanel script.
The third is a 3D leather snowflake, crafted using a découpage technique and coated in gold leaf. The final two are an ode to Coco Chanel. A white leather camellia boasts golden petal edges and the double-C emblem, while a ceramic N°5 bottle doubles as a scent diffuser.
The Chanel Chalet is clearly for collectors rather than casual shoppers. The fragrances, body oil and cosmetics are pleasant on their own, but the keepsake ornaments and exclusive case truly make the difference. It is perfect for someone who wants a gift that doubles as Christmas décor.
