For years, the top-handle bag was defined by a short, structured grip that either sat neatly on the forearm or in the palm of your hand. But now, a new crop of bags is stretching that idea out, quite literally. Straps are not only getting longer, looser and more sculptural, they are turning the handle into the entire point. These four bags from four very different fashion houses show how far the double-handle idea is travelling this season.

01 - Alaïa Le Teckel Bag, SGD3550
If any bag has become shorthand for this movement, it’s Alaïa’s Le Teckel. Named for its resemblance to the elongated body of a dachshund, it surely ranks amongst the brand’s most recognisable silhouettes. Its exaggerated, looping tubular handles have made it an It-bag in its own right. This new edition arrives in green-grey shiny goatskin with a double-zip closure. The bag’s entire visual identity hinges on those oversized, sculptural handles, which also slide comfortably over the shoulder. ALAÏA

02 - Louis Vuitton Squire East-West, SGD3700
Louis Vuitton’s Squire East-West draws inspiration from the Alma, but shortened and stretched horizontally for a wider, lower profile. It comes rendered in glossy, tone-on-tone Monogram Ink calfskin with dual non-removable straps. What sets this bag apart, however, is the adjustable strap, which lets you wear it at different drop lengths. It’s a practical nod to the demand for one bag to effectively do the work of several carrying styles. LOUIS VUITTON

03 - Marni Trunkette Bag, POA
The Trunkette launches in September as part of Meryll Rogge’s debut fall-winter 2026 collection for Marni. Expect a softer riff on the house’s structured Trunk bag, a slouchy, crinkled calfskin body with a crisp, polished flap. That push-pull between casual and formal feels very of the moment. Twin tubular handles sit long enough for genuine shoulder-carry versatility. Marni’s brass spring clasp secures the bag, a detail that nods to the Trunk lineage. The silhouette, meanwhile, goes its own way. MARNI

04 - Ralph Lauren Polo Blaze, from SGD1059
Lastly, Ralph Lauren’s Polo Blaze pulls its DNA from the saddlery world. Supple nappa leather shapes a sculptural, dimensional silhouette that references traditional equestrian construction. The standout detail is surely the door-knocker hardware, a direct callback to archival Polo bags from the 1990s. A double-flap construction keeps daily essentials secure, and the bag comes in two sizes, measuring 36.8 cm by 15.9 cm and 53.3 cm by 26.7 cm respectively. RALPH LAUREN
