Onitsuka Tiger’s TAI-CHI first appeared in 2003, its narrow profile and stripped-back shape inspired by traditional tai chi footwear. Over two decades later, the Japanese label revisits the design with the TAI-CHI OG. The subtle refresh stays true to the original’s lean appeal, proof that some silhouettes only need refining, not reinventing.

The update instead centres on materials and finishing, paying tribute to the OG along the way. Premium leather replaces the original’s upper, while the brand’s signature Tiger Stripes run across the quarter for a sharper accent. The seamless toe box and low-cut collar carry over from the 2003 silhouette, keeping things deliberately pared-back.
To mark the launch, Onitsuka Tiger filmed its campaign in Hong Kong. It’s a fitting backdrop where neon-lit streets and old-world charm sit side by side, much like the shoe itself. The TAI-CHI OG arrives in three colourways: White/Black and Black/White cater to the purists, while a bold Yellow/Black adds a graphic edge.
In Singapore, the TAI-CHI OG retails at SGD200 in sizes US4 to US14, so there are sizes for both him and her. It launches on 10 September 2026 at Onitsuka Tiger stores and online.
