Moynat takes its cue from the classic canvas beach tote, then quietly elevates it. Named for the maison’s founder, the new Pauline Tote trades everyday utility for refined materials and precise construction. This is a bag you will want to carry everywhere, not only to the beach.
The tote is generously proportioned at 45 cm wide and 31.5 cm high. It arrives in Moynat’s signature M canvas, complete with cowhide leather trims and contrast stitching for an artisanal edge. Two structured leather handles anchor its roomy body. Inside, there is ample room for a laptop, groceries, a change of shoes and plenty more.
Besides a striking shade of sunshine yellow, Moynat offers the Pauline Tote in eight other hues. These span black, brown and grey through to punchier blue, green, orange, red and purple. Two miniature pouches hang from the tote’s leather handle on twisted leather cords. Finished in the same canvas in purple and yellow, they read as an extension of the bag itself.
Moynat calls these the Mini Beauty Pouch, a neat fix for the tote bag’s eternal problem: small essentials vanishing within. Each one is sized for a lipbalm, a set of earbuds and other odds and ends. Zipped shut and tethered to the bag, they are almost impossible to misplace.
