Loro Piana’s Extra Softy has been one of the Italian label’s most talked-about bags this year. Now, it arrives in a new L29 size, a more compact option that joins the existing L33 and L44 versions. The numbers refer to the width of each bag in centimetres, so this scales the silhouette down while keeping everything that makes the original so covetable.

A relatively new addition to the Extra bag family, the softer, more relaxed take on the brand’s signature style debuted earlier this year. While the original Extra draws on the structured charm of vintage vanity cases, the newer style strips away that rigidity. Supple construction and an effortless slouch replace the boxy frame, creating a bag that moves easily from day to night.
The Extra Softy L29 measures 29 cm by 12 cm and retains every detail that defines the collection. Firstly, it’s crafted in buttery-soft calfskin, a material that only enhances the relaxed silhouette. Then a two-way zip fastening runs across the top, finished with the iconic Ghiera charm and padlock detail.
Two adjustable, detachable straps offer extra styling options. Tote it by hand via the top handle, sling it over the shoulder with the shorter strap or go crossbody with the longer one. Priced at SGD6220, the new size launches in a palette of four shades: Cuir, Deep Kummel, Fossil and Whisper White.
With three sizes now available, the Extra Softy collection gives Loro Piana one of its most versatile bag families yet. Indeed, the L29 may well be the sweet spot for those who want the look without the volume.
