Ever wonder what Jung Kook’s favourite fragrance might be? If Chanel Beauty’s latest films are anything to go by, it’s the 1957 Eau de Parfum. The BTS star joined Chanel's Fragrance & Beauty division as its global ambassador at the end of 2025. Now, he steps further into the world of fragrance with two new films centred around one of the maison’s most iconic scents.

The first film, Jung Kook Meets 1957, offers an intimate glimpse into the K-pop star’s relationship with fragrance. He explores the story behind this particular one, while reflecting on his own journey. It reveals a more personal portrait in which scent intertwines with memory, identity and self-expression.

The second, Let’s Talk Parfum, pairs Jung Kook with Chanel’s in-house perfumer Olivier Polge for a relaxed conversation. Together, they unpack the composition of 1957 and discuss how a fragrance evolves once it meets the skin. The easy chemistry between the two gives fragrance lovers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.

So, what exactly does the 1957 smell like? Part of the Les Exclusifs de Chanel collection, the fragrance is an amber-musky floral. It draws its name from the year Gabrielle Chanel received the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in America. Luminous neroli opens the composition, with powdery iris at its heart. Soft white musks then lend the EDP its signature skin-scent quality, creating an intimate aura that melds seamlessly with the wearer.

Once settled, the scent gradually unfolds into something warmer, softer and uniquely personal throughout the day. Hints of orange blossom bring a delicate brightness, while cedar and vetiver leave behind a clean, elegant trail. The effect is subtle yet captivating, a scent that quietly lingers rather than demanding attention.

If Jung Kook has inspired you to discover this soft, sophisticated blend, we wouldn’t blame you. The 1957 Eau de Parfum retails at SGD395 for 75 ML and SGD705 for 200 ML. Find it at Chanel's Fragrance & Beauty boutiques and online.
