Gucci’s Boulevard reinterprets the house’s signature Horsebit by blowing the hardware out to an oversized, sculptural scale. In high-shine black leather mounted on a chunky, lugged rubber sole, it’s a loafer for the city. It’s polished enough for the everyday, but sturdy enough to walk in for hours. 02 - Miu Miu Brushed Leather Loafers, POA
Then comes Miu Miu, who opts for a glassy, almost wet-look shine. This slip-on loafer features a slightly bulbous toe that lends the silhouette a retro, doll-like softness. The penny strap sits high and clean across the vamp, with barely-there stitching. 03 - Saint Laurent Le Loafer, SGD2140
Saint Laurent leans into texture with a fine, subtly scaled upper crafted in hagfish. The real trick here, however, is the collapsible heel. Either wear it up as a traditional penny loafer or fold it flat for an off-duty slipper. One shoe, two modes. A hand-stitched moc toe and low, unfussy sole keep things grounded rather than precious. Think Tod’s, and classic footwear immediately comes to mind. This new pair takes things further with buttery-soft calfskin and a penny bar discreetly set with Tod’s oval logo. The construction leans on the brand’s signature stitching and a supple rubber outsole built for actual mileage.
