This summer, cult-favourite leather goods label Polène Paris leans into ease, lightness and circular design. The result is the Nomad Solé, a reimagined evolution of its Solé bag. Its name is a nod to the French word for sun, while the net-inspired silhouette feels roomy, soft and built for movement. For journeys near or far, it makes an ideal summer companion.

The bag comes under the brand’s Plèi collection, which commits to sustainable design by upcycling leather offcuts. Here, surplus materials transform into something unexpectedly beautiful. The airy silhouette measures 37 cm by 35 cm and comprises 382 pebble-like leather pearls.

Each pearl on the Nomad Solé begins as leather offcuts, first sorted by colour. These are ground into a fine material, blended with a biopolymer, then moulded under high temperatures into soft, rounded shapes. Therefore, no two pearls look exactly alike, lending the bag a subtle individuality.

To bind them, 320 meticulously hand-tied macramé knots draw the pearls into a fluid, mesh-like structure. Because of this, the bag sways gently with every movement. Fine woven-leather handles complete the look, while a discreet magnetic closure and internal patch pocket keep things practical.

Whether toted in hand, carried on the elbow or slung over the shoulder, the Nomad Solé adapts to any journey. Priced at USD860, it comes in three colourways: Ebony, Porcelain and Tan. The bag now ships from the Polène Paris online store, which delivers to Singapore from USD25.
