Michael Rider used his first standalone menswear show for Celine to map out an entire wardrobe for printemps-été 2027. After previous co-ed outings, the creative director layered ready-to-wear and accessories in eclectic combinations that never looked overworked. Fringe necklaces cascaded down faces and cords cinched outerwear. Cummerbunds sat over sweaters rather than beneath jackets, bending formalwear rules.

Rather than anchoring the collection to one standout look, Rider let colour carry the conversation. Scarves and cummerbunds arrived in bold hues, worn almost like sashes, and quickly emerged as the season’s clearest signatures. Some cinched tight at the waist, while others wrapped like obi-style bands, adding a sense of architecture. Colour, in turn, registered first at the edges and then traced back through the rest of each outfit.

Print, meanwhile, worked in a lower register across Celine Men’s printemps-été 2027 collection. Shirting and ties carried subtle pattern, styled closer in spirit to jewellery than to a standard corporate accessory. Bags also leaned decisively oversized this season. Slouchy crescent-shaped shoulder bags, supersized totes and backpacks were hugged under one arm or slung over a shoulder, lending even the most tailored looks effortless energy.
Footwear continues to rank amongst Rider’s strongest storytelling tools. Having already helped popularise men’s lace-up ballet flats, he further introduced ultra-flat slipper-style shoes and deliberately scuffed trainers. The headline addition was a new partnership with Reebok, centred on the archival Freestyle sneaker that graced the runway in three colourways. Barely-there sandals, meanwhile, brought a warm-weather counterpoint that balanced out the overall lineup.
Taken together, Celine Men’s printemps-été 2027 blended collegiate prep, bohemian styling and rock attitude without settling into any single reference. A coloured glove here, an oversized bag there, this is menswear that rewards a slow, close look rather than a quick scroll.
