Somewhere in the early 1920s, artist Henri Rapin began hand-painting a repeating M monogram onto Moynat’s famous trunks. Clean, geometric and instantly recognisable from afar, it quickly established itself as a house icon. Decades later, that monogram remains as relevant as ever. Today, it forms the foundation of the new Daisy Purple Canvas M collection.
The Canvas M collection serves as Moynat’s contemporary interpretation of Rapin’s archival motif. Crafted from a non-stretched cotton-linen blend, the canvas undergoes numerous production stages before receiving a final coating. This finishing touch enhances colour depth while giving the signature monogram its distinctive three-dimensional appearance.
The collection first rolled out in the now classic brown, before gradually expanding into a spectrum of colours. Blue, green, orange, red and yellow followed, after which came black and white. Pink later joined the family for those seeking a lighter touch, while military green, burgundy and marine blue debuted last autumn as more considered additions.
Now, for summer 2026, Daisy Purple takes centrestage. Purple possesses a confidence all its own, sitting somewhere between brown’s timeless appeal and pink’s playful charm. Thanks to the coated canvas construction, the rich violet hue appears especially saturated, allowing the monogram to reveal impressive depth and dimension.
In Singapore, the Daisy Purple Canvas M collection spans shoppers and totes in multiple sizes, starting with the Mini Shopper at SGD2400. Meanwhile, the Mini 48H Duffle retails at SGD2900, and a chic Hobo comes in at SGD3400. Whether you favour a structured tote, an easy shoulder bag or a travel-ready companion, Moynat’s latest Canvas M offering ensures a purple option for every mood.
