Two decades after first joining forces in 2006, Longchamp and Jeremy Scott reunite for a new chapter. This time, their longstanding collaboration introduces the New York travel bag. As always, the partnership reimagines Longchamp’s signature Le Pliage through the designer’s irreverent, pop-culture lens. In the process, a practical, foldable bag turns into something closer to an art object.
This year, the dialogue turns to New York City, stamping Scott’s love for the metropolis directly onto the bag. It joins an established series that already includes the Paris, Hollywood and Paradise editions, with each one functioning like a postcard from somewhere worth remembering.
For the New York edition, inspiration comes straight from Manhattan’s skyline, of course. The iconic scene is rendered as a bold graphic across the canvas exterior. Then flip the Le Pliage over, and a handwritten-style postcard motif appears on the reverse. The signed note reads “Wish you were here! Love, Jeremy.” The affectionate signature thus turns the bag into a kind of correspondence between designer and wearer.
Despite its playful exterior, the bag retains the codes that make it a modern favourite. Lightweight canvas pairs with brown Russian leather handles, complete with the iconic flap closure. It folds completely flat when not in use, then unfolds into a functional companion whenever you need it. At 45 cm wide and 35 cm high, it sits comfortably in weekend bag territory.
