JW Anderson has quietly been building a world beyond fashion, and its latest home pieces make the strongest case yet. The brand has just launched a small collection of handcrafted objects online, each born from collaborations with makers who have spent lifetimes perfecting their craft. From a Welsh woollen mill to a master basketmaker’s studio, these are the kind of pieces that carry real provenance.

First up is a striking blanket in tomato red, made in partnership with Melin Tregwynt, a Pembrokeshire mill that has been weaving since the 18th century. The wool is entirely traceable back to farms in the Cambrian mountains, a detail that carries genuine cultural weight. Measuring 200 cm by 170 cm, the throw uses a traditional double-cloth technique that makes it reversible, warm and durable.

Alongside the blanket, JW Anderson introduces two baskets created with sculptor and master basketmaker Eddie Glew. Both the laundry basket and the blanket basket are woven entirely by hand from British willow, in a tradition Glew inherited from his father. Earthy in colour and surprisingly monumental in scale, they occupy a completely different sensory register: tactile, grounded and quietly sculptural.

What elevates the baskets further is the finishing. Each one features leather details developed with a London-based leather craftsperson, rendered in a vegetable-tanned, deep chocolate brown. Applied straps and delicate flower motifs adorn the exterior, while flower-shaped washers echo the detail inside. Gunmetal hardware ties everything together, working surprisingly well against the organic nature of the hand-woven willow.

The blanket is available for direct purchase, while the baskets sit under a ‘Request to Buy’ model, due to the time and effort each piece demands. It’s a thoughtful approach from JW Anderson, and one that reinforces how seriously the brand takes its home offerings.
