Since its debut, the Dior Book Tote from Dior has become one of the house’s most recognisable bags. Its boxy, open-top canvas design embodies utilitarian chic. Over the years, it has appeared in countless embroidered, printed and personalised iterations. This season, however, the introduces a new dimension altogether with the Spongy Book Tote.
Part of the Dioriviera capsule, the maison’s annual ode to sun-drenched escapes, the latest version arrives in striking all-over blue with leather trims. A unique interplay of textures reimagines the beloved silhouette, creating a lightweight, foam-like hand feel. The effect feels novel without veering gimmicky, while remaining plush in all the right places. The Dior Oblique motif remains present, complete with an oversized DIOR signature embroidered in front.
The construction also stays true to what has always made the Book Tote so practical. An eyelet and drawstring secure the open main compartment, a feature shared across all three sizes. Each bag also comes with an interior slip pocket, while the cotton-linen lining lends a quietly refined finish. The small, measuring 25.5 cm by 21 cm, comfortably holds daily essentials like SLGs and sunnies. Priced at SGD3900, it is the most compact expression of the trio.
The medium, coming in at 36 cm by 24 cm and SGD4300, accommodates a laptop, documents and other daily necessities. Then there is the large iteration, measuring an impressive 50 cm by 41 cm and retailing at SGD4700. Roomy enough for a beach outfit, towel and spare espadrilles, it is certainly built for resort days. The two larger sizes also include a convenient removable zip pouch.
Flat top handles allow for hand-carrying, while longer handles on the larger sizes slip comfortably over the shoulder. Soft, tactile and unmistakably Dior, the Spongy Book Tote is made for casual summer adventures ahead.
