Since its spring-summer 2026 debut, the Barbara has quickly become one of Bottega Veneta’s most compelling new silhouettes. Introduced under Louise Trotter’s creative direction, the style balances architectural structure with supple sophistication. It captures the Italian luxury house’s distinctive, logo-less approach to craftsmanship and now arrives in a new, more compact size.
Expert artisans handweave the tote in soft nappa leather, creating a geometric silhouette. It features sleek tubular handles and a generously proportioned body. Select larger sizes also come in a streamlined smooth calf leather finish, while the signature Intrecciato weave remains the defining option. Brass Vibrato hardware and discreet tubular anchors, meanwhile, complete the look and enhance the bag’s sculptural lines.
Inside, a secure zip closure opens to a main compartment fitted with a zip pocket for smaller essentials. A leather-covered hand mirror tucked into the base adds a charming finishing touch, one that speaks to Bottega Veneta’s focus on everyday rituals. The Barbara tote also accommodates the Dustbag, a custom pouch available separately in Intrecciato leather. Finished with a drawstring closure and metal sphere details, the Dustbag snaps directly onto the bag for added organisation.
Until now, the tote came in three sizes: Medium (SGD8280) at 37 cm by 27 cm, Large (from SGD10,650) at 42 cm by 30 cm, and Maxi (SGD13530) at 50.5 cm by 34 cm. This season, however, the collection expands with a new small size. Measuring 30 cm by 20.5 cm, it offers a more compact interpretation of the original silhouette at SGD7280.
Despite its smaller frame, the new size retains every hallmark of its larger siblings, from handwoven construction to sculptural hardware. It delivers the same effortlessly sophisticated presence for those who prefer a more compact carry. The small Barbara tote launches in colourways including Deep Mahogany, Espresso and Travertine, adding yet more versatility to Bottega Veneta’s expanding range.
