Fringe is having a moment, and Acne Studios is giving the trend a decidedly cool-girl update. While swinging tassels can easily veer festival-ready, the Swedish label approaches the bohemian staple with functionality and its signature subversive edge. The result? Two new fringed iterations of the Camero bag.
First introduced in spring-summer 2025, the silhouette took inspiration from the utilitarian bag creative director Jonny Johansson carried his large Polaroid camera in. Blending practicality with Acne Studios’ pared-back aesthetic, the bag quickly earned cult-favourite status. Now, for the new season, it returns adorned with swathes of leather fringe.
The smaller of the two is the Camero Kit Fringed Crossbody Bag (SGD3200). Crafted from small-grain shiny black leather, rows of matching tassels frame both the front and back. The effect adds movement and bohemian charm, while preserving the bag’s sleek utilitarian roots. Measuring 20 cm by 12 cm by 11 cm, it also features silver-tone hardware, denim-inspired button details and a branded key charm.
For those who prefer a hands-free option, a drop handle pairs with an adjustable and removable crossbody strap. Together with multiple internal compartments, they make the compact silhouette an easy companion from day to night. Practicality remains central to the design, proving that statement details need not come at the expense of function.
Then there’s the Camero Camera Fringed Shoulder Bag (SGD5350), which scales everything up. Measuring 42 cm by 28 cm by 11 cm, it retains the practical details that define the Camero line while amplifying its fringed appeal. A top handle and additional adjustable strap offer styling options, while the softly structured shape lends an effortlessly relaxed attitude. Whichever size you choose, Acne Studios proves fringe is back, and cooler than ever.
