Racing is typically associated with shades of red and black, but TAG Heuer is here to shift that palette. Releasing its iconic Formula 1 38 MM Solargraph in a limited-edition pastel collection, the Swiss watchmaker reimagines the spirit of speed through a gentler, more expressive lens.

The original Formula 1 collection broke ground in 1986 as the first major release following the brand’s transformation. It introduced bold colourways and experimental materials that mirrored the dynamism of the late 20th century. Decades on, it remains a symbol of individuality and performance, with each new iteration building on that legacy.

Then came the 2025 introduction of the Solargraph movement, marking another defining chapter. Harnessing light as a near-limitless energy source, the technology feels both practical and forward-looking. Just two minutes of sunlight powers the watch for a full day, while a complete charge delivers up to 10 months of autonomy.

Now, that same Formula 1 38 MM Solargraph innovation arrives in a trio of playful pastels. Retailing at SGD2700, each is crafted in a lightweight TH Polylight case and paired with a tonal rubber strap. Signature elements remain intact, from the bidirectional bezel to the Mercedes hour hand. The lineup includes a beige opalin dial with cool grey and white accents (3500 pieces), a pastel pink version (2500 pieces) and a pastel blue edition (3000 pieces).

The launch also introduces two elevated interpretations, priced at SGD3850 each. These feature sandblasted steel cases and three-row bracelets, as well as diamond-set indexes that enhance luminosity. The pastel green model (1500 pieces) balances colour with sparkle. Meanwhile, the lavender blue version (1000 pieces), accented with pastel pink minuterie, offers a more nuanced contrast.

Altogether, the pastel collection of TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 38 MM Solargraph strikes a thoughtful balance between heritage proportions and contemporary wearability. Whichever pastel you choose, it captures racing not just as a sport, but as a state of mind that lives well beyond the track.
