The Madison returns for Bottega Veneta’s fall 2026 season. This time, it arrives in Intrecciato leather. Crafted using the house’s signature hand-weaving technique, leather strips interlace in a tight diagonal grid until the material transforms into something else entirely.
Proving that it’s no ordinary bag, the design features a malleable memory flap. This means that it can be reshaped again and again, each time holding a new form until you decide otherwise. Think of it as an ongoing conversation between object and owner, gradually personalising itself with use.
Anchoring the flap is the brand’s signature knot closure. This sculptural brass mechanism sits at the centre of the Madison like a punctuation mark. Untwist it, and the entire front opens with a satisfying click. Inside, a lambskin-lined interior keeps the bag's everyday essentials in check. There’s also a single zipped pocket inside, perfect for a cardholder and other bits and bobs.
Measuring 27 cm by 16 cm, the bag transitions seamlessly from day to night. Consequently, it works as a one-size-fits-all, without the need for a switch between daily milestones. Meanwhile, the Intrecciato weave appears in four colours, from deep Black to neutral Ecru, Espresso and Mineral (blue).
The crossbody chain slides easily to form a longer strap. Alternatively, loop it twice to tuck it neatly under the arm. Additionally, leather pads add comfort during prolonged wear.
