In a world where fragrance feels deeply personal, Cartier refines the experience with Les Bases à Parfumer. The customisable perfume ritual is conceived as a body care line that adapts to your preferences. Inviting you to layer, blend and tailor scent entirely on your own terms, fragrance becomes something you shape, rather than simply wear.
The concept is elegantly simple. Two olfactory-neutral bases arrive in gold-tone packaging embellished with the maison’s emblematic gadroons, alongside four concentrated, alcohol-free perfume oils. At the core, peregrina oil infuses the entire collection. Sourced from the moringa peregrina tree in Al-’Ula, Saudi Arabia, this rare ingredient is prized for exceptional moisturising properties and luminous finish on skin.
To begin, the Les Bases à Parfumer ritual starts with choosing a base. Firstly, L’Huile Pure (SGD335 for 100 ML) is a body oil exclusively comprising peregrina oil. A sumptuous, multi-use formula for hair, face and body, imparting a satin sheen. Alternatively, the Crème Pure (SGD250 for 200 ML) offers a richer, cocooning texture that melts into skin. Formulated with the same precious oil, it leaves a soft, silky veil.
This brings us, naturally, to the second step, choosing your fragrance. While the scentless bases can stand alone or enhance the longevity of any perfume, Cartier designs them to pair seamlessly with Les Gouttes de Parfum Concentré. Each 15 ML vial presents the maison’s emblematic scents in a concentrated, alcohol-free oil form, similarly enriched with peregrina oil.

Amongst them is VIII L’Heure Diaphane (SGD171), which captures freshness through airy peony and luminous lychee. Then there is the maison’s signature La Panthère (SGD121), a sensual blend of radiant florals and velvety musk. For a pure floral expression, Pur Rose (SGD171) distils the bloom in its most vibrant form, while Oud & Santal (SGD220) offers a deeper, enveloping warmth.
Finally ready for application? Smooth on the Les Bases à Parfumer body cream or oil, then apply a few drops of perfume oil onto pulse points. Alternatively, blend both together before applying for a diffused trail. The ritual stays fully customisable, even here, because you can dial the intensity up or down simply by adjusting the number of drops.
A luxurious invitation to personalise fragrance, Les Bases à Parfumer is now available in Cartier boutiques and online. The perfect thoughtful gesture for the upcoming Mother’s Day, or an indulgence that’s entirely your own, yes?
