Polène Paris continues to shape its identity through a reverential approach to leather. This philosophy led to Plèi, a line devoted to reimagining surplus materials with intention. Rather than discard, the house ensures craftsmanship and sustainability move forward together. The new Plèi Béri Rizom Edition Bag similarly reflects that mindset.

This limited-edition reworking of the label’s beloved Béri bag is dubbed the Rizom edition. It highlights Polène’s commitment to upcycling through design, with each bag taking up to five days to complete. Artisans meticulously hand-tie leather cords sourced entirely from recycled offcuts. Consequently, texture becomes the focus, not just the silhouette.

True to the brand’s ethos, nature guides the narrative. The criss-crossing cords echo rhizomes, root systems that spread quietly beneath the soil. The name Béri itself draws from the word ‘berry’, a nod to its softly rounded silhouette. The artisans knot four panels, then interlace them by hand to form the intricate and richly tactile surface. Because of this process, no two pieces are exactly alike.

Measuring 22 cm by 18 cm by 11 cm, the top-handle design features a tailored base and sliding central clasp. A magnetic tab secures essentials, while an interior pocket adds everyday practicality. For added versatility, it comes with a detachable shoulder strap that you can also attach for crossbody wear.

The Plèi Béri Rizom Edition Bag comes in two exclusive colour options: Cognac and Navy. Get it online for USD860 via the Polène Paris e-store.
