First introduced in 2022, Dior’s Lady D-Joy arrived as a modern counterpoint to the maison’s most storied handbag. Symbolically linked to Lady Diana, the original Lady Dior remains iconic. However, with its reimagined east-west silhouette, the design blends heritage with a distinctly contemporary attitude. Grounded in Dior’s codes, it feels familiar yet refreshed.

What sets the newer version apart is of course its shape. While its predecessor is structured and boxy, this stretches horizontally in a sleeker format. As a result, the elongated profile accommodates modern life with ease. Yet it also retains signature Cannage stitching, two rounded top handles and D-I-O-R charms that move gently with every step.

Looks aside, functionality is where the Lady D-Joy truly shines. Each bag comes with two removable, interchangeable straps for easy transformation. The shorter chain suits evenings out, while the adjustable leather sling allows for hands-free crossbody wear that’s practical yet elegant.

To date, the Lady D-Joy comes in four sizes to suit different needs. The micro (from SGD5000) measures 16 cm by 9 cm with four Cannage motifs across. Then the mini (from SGD6400) comes in at 19 cm by 10.5 cm with nearly five motifs. The small (from SGD6800) measures 22 cm by 12 cm with five full motifs, while the medium (from SGD7600) stands at 26 cm by 13.5 cm with six motifs.

The choice of finishes offer just as much variety. Classic lambskin appears in black, white and powder beige, alongside two-tone gold and white. Other newer colourways include pink-to-latte gradients and tonal shades like light beige and olive taupe. There are also patent, printed and metallic calfskin options, plus tactile tweed, technical fabric and microbead embroidery.

For extra allure, special editions include a Dioramour iteration that adds heart motifs, while another replaces Cannage quilting with multicolour floral prints. Elegant, timeless and quietly iconic, Dior’s Lady D-Joy proves that classics can indeed evolve beautifully.
