Few designs in the world of jewellery possess the same enduring magic as Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra collection. Born in 1968, the very first Alhambra creation was a long necklace of 20 yellow gold clover-shaped motifs, each delicately bordered with golden beads. More than an elegant accessory, it became a talisman of good fortune.
Inspired by the four-leaf clovers Jacques Arpels collected in his garden at Germigny-l’Évêque, it was an embodiment of one of the maison’s most cherished values, luck. The motif quickly became an emblem of the maison’s timeless elegance and masterful craftsmanship. Over the decades, it evolved through countless materials and styles, while always preserving its original essence.

Van Cleef & Arpels reinvents its icon of luck by bringing its beloved transformability to the Alhambra collection. The result are two new long necklaces and two reversible rings that redefine versatility. Leading the collection are the Magic Alhambra transformable long necklaces, with an asymmetrical arrangement of the motif in varying sizes bringing graceful fluidity to every piece.
Ingenious hidden clasps let each design serve as long or short necklaces, and even as a bracelet. The new creations also delight with refined colour combinations. One unites guilloché rose gold with white and grey mother-of-pearl, while the other blends guilloché white gold with soft blue chalcedony and luminous mother-of-pearl.
Complementing these are two Vintage Alhambra reversible rings. Framed by double beaded contours, each ring features a smooth rotating mechanism revealing dual faces, offering two looks in one. One design pairs grey mother-of-pearl with a diamond set in guilloché rose gold, while the other contrasts soft chalcedony with guilloché white gold finished with a sparkling diamond.
Faithful to Van Cleef & Arpels’ tradition of transformable jewellery, these new transformable Alhambra creations not only celebrate exquisite craftsmanship. They also showcase a modern adaptability, a poetic metamorphosis that turns timeless elegance into wearable art.
