Dior spotlights the Centifolia rose in its newest scent, Rose Star, the latest addition to La Collection Privée Christian Dior. Merging it with another of Monsieur Dior’s enduring symbols, the lucky star that guided his destiny, it is a tribute to both fate and floral reverie. Unfurling like five points of a guiding star, the multifaceted composition is fruity, spicy, zesty, honeyed and musky.
Created by perfume creation director Francis Kurkdjian, the olfactive experience opens with sparkling lemon peel. Then it reveals bursts of lychee, raspberry and pear, warmed by rich Sichuan pepper. At its heart lies the Centifolia rose, softened by a base of honey and musk that lingers long after the first spritz. The result is a rose reimagined, one that is generous, genderless and thoroughly contemporary.

This launch embodies the poetic spirit of La Collection Privée Christian Dior, the maison’s private line of niche perfumes that bridge couture and scent. A rainbow of eau de parfums made from precious ingredients, the 24-strong collection spans four fragrance families. These distinct olfactory silhouettes are bottled in sleek, minimalist flacons that allow their mesmerising colours to shine through.
Firstly, chypre creations like Gris Dior and New Look blend fresh notes that reflect Christian Dior’s love of architecture. Then gourmand perfumes such as Dioriviera and Rouge Trafalgar indulge the senses with epicurean richness.
Meanwhile, woody scents like Bois d’Argent and Bois Talisman embrace mystery, echoing Dior’s superstitious nature. Finally, the floral family, home to favourites such as Lucky and Sakura, now welcomes Rose Star as its newest emblem.
