In a season of contrasts for Chanel, a new line-up of audaciously tiny bag charms is taking the spotlight for fall-winter 2025. These whimsical charms are an excellent follow-up to the Classic minis that debuted at Metiers d’Art earlier this year, except this time they return in geometric shapes that are both fun and fascinating.
Firstly, there’s a 4 cm by 4 cm cuboid charm, with a metallic quilted clasp that opens for storing tiny trinkets. Equally intriguing is an orb-like charm with a 5 cm diameter. If you recall, the models carried them via tiny chain straps down the Grand Palais runway. Then there’s an oval charm, reminiscent of a miniature soap bar 6 cm wide and 4.5 cm high. All three are crafted in quilted lambskin, with CHANEL emblazoned across the front.
A fourth iteration, while not exactly geometric, draws inspiration from the maison’s vanity chain bags. Measuring 11 cm by 9 cm, the Classic Mini Bag Charm comes in grained, shiny caviar calfskin. Unzip the wide zipper to reveal a lined interior that will fit anything from credit cards to a lipstick or two.
These mini bag charms tap into a growing desire for personal expression. Think of them as fun SLGs to doll up your bag, a way to personalise, elevate and add visual intrigue. In Singapore, the geometric-shaped charms retail at SGD2520 each, whereas the Classic Mini Bag Charm comes in at SGD2680.
Sometimes, the most powerful statements come in the smallest packages. And in a world of supersized everything, there is a profound, almost defiant elegance in choosing the infinitesimal.
