Come 9 August, a date aligning with the full moon’s luminous presence, the Moonshine Gold makes a glorious return. From the moon’s perspective, Swatch and Omega view Earth through the playful lens of Snoopy. And it is through the new Mission To Earthphase Moonshine Gold that they tell the story from another vantage point.

This latest addition to the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection not only features the new ‘Earth phase’ complication. The timepiece also represents mirrors the moon’s 29.5-day cycle in reverse, thus creating an ingenious counterclockwise movement. It’s a poetic reinterpretation of the retrograde function we more often see in haute horlogerie.
Beyond the new Earth phase indicator rest Snoopy and Woodstock. Perching on the Moon, they seemingly gaze in wonder at Earth. The illustrated duo conceal a UV-activated phrase, a subtle nod to the original MoonSwatch and those who dared to envision the impossible.
The two o’clock subdial further enriches this narrative with a moon phase indicator. This features two radiant full moons, both with Omega’s Moonshine Gold coating. One is playfully styled in the distinctive Snoopy aesthetic, while the clever inclusion of a net-like pattern on the other pays homage to the lore of abundant sturgeon fish that typically appear in August. Which also coincides with the launch of this timepiece.
Available in the 42MM size with a navy rubber strap to complement the navy Bioceramic case, the Mission To Earthphase Moonshine Gold is more than another limited-edition collectible. It’s a wearable reminder that innovation often comes with a simple shift in viewpoints. Retailing at SGD535, the timepiece will launch only at selected Swatch stores in Singapore.
