Think of Moncler, and its signature puffer jackets, common around ski resorts and cities with cooler climates, come to mind. But that’s not all the Italian fashion brand has to offer. For example, its growing footwear line showcases a fresh and compelling direction. Especially with the Trailgrip Apex 2 GTX and Moncler Altive Mid leading the charge.
While not quite brand new, the Trailgrip Apex 2 GTX is an extension of the brand’s classic Trailgrip sneaker. The original features a mix of rugged pizzazz and technical elements, but this updated version boasts a sleeker silhouette. In a range of tonal hues, it also focuses less on technicality and more towards everyday appeal.
Materials like nubuck side panels and caviar-textured leather give the sneaker a tactile and visual richness. But beyond good looks, a GORE-TEX membrane, Ortholite insole and Vibram Megagrip tread ensure superior traction and all-day comfort.
In contrast to the refined evolution of the Trailgrip, the Moncler Altive Mid makes a bold, new statement. This winter boot is a direct homage to Moncler’s archival snow boots, except this time reimagined for metropolitan life. In a concise tonal palette of neutral beige, pale rose, khaki and black, the boot is a versatile addition to any wardrobe.
Its chunky Vibram Megagrip sole provides advanced traction on ice or wet surfaces, a crucial element for winter hikes and hitting the slopes. A padded nylon upper provides insulation while giving the boot a distinctive look. Finally, an adjustable puller lacing system adds to its practical nature and unique aesthetic.
While the Altive Mid is slated for a launch later in August, you can find the Trailgrip Apex 2 GTX online and at Moncler’s boutique in Marina Bay Sands, priced at SGD1215 in either brown or white.
