Since its debut 15 years ago, Bleu de Chanel has stood as a modern scent icon. The aromatic-woody fragrance that evokes strength and elegance has since evolved into a full olfactory wardrobe, from a fresh eau de toilette to a complete line of grooming essentials. Now, Chanel introduces the Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif, its boldest iteration yet.
It all began in 2010 with an Eau de Toilette (from SGD137 for 50 ML). Vibrant and energetic, this citrus-infused composition is layered with aromatic herbs and sparkling notes of cedar. At its core lies a precious sandalwood extract that’s ethically and sustainably sourced from Maré, an island in New Caledonia. A tailor-made process utilises only the heartwood. Rich in essential oils, this gives the line of fragrances its distinctive depth.

Following this came the Eau de Parfum in 2014 (from SGD160 for 50 ML). A warmer and more sensual version, it weaves the musky, woody notes with ambery cedar and tonka bean. In 2018, the Parfum (from SGD185 for 50 ML) was launched to dial up the intensity. This hypnotic juice opens with powerful freshness that lingers with the precious accord of the majestic New Caledonian sandalwood.
Six years on, Chanel expands this fragrance family with its most profound expression yet. Enter the Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif (from SGD268 for 60 ML), a blend as sophisticated as it is enigmatic. Bold aromatic amber evolves into a symphony of leathery, resinous notes, before settling into an intoxicating base of creamy sandalwood. Rich, mysterious and magnetic, it is unmistakably Bleu.
True to the line’s visual identity, the new offering is housed in a perfectly square bottle that reflects the infinite. Its blue hue is almost black but not quite, a shade that defies categorisation, much like the man who wears it.
The new Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif will be available from 19 August at Chanel's Fragrance & Beauty boutiques and online. Afterwards, it lands at all Chanel's Fragrance & Beauty counters from 26 August.
