Good news for fans of Bottega Veneta’s distinctive Intrecciato nappa leather. A ‘new’ style rejoins the Italian fashion house’s leather goods line-up. But far from a newborn, the Campana bag is actually a reintroduction of an archival silhouette. Like its fellow classics, the design articulates its presence through its interwoven leather structure.
Thriving on its understated gravitas, there’s no external logo to be found. Only the richness and pliability of the Intrecciato nappa leather serve as a silent nod to those in the know. The capacious interior further reveals the beauty of the weave, eliminating the need for additional linings to conceal any imperfections.
Think of the Campana as a rounded, more structured version of Bottega Veneta’s Hop. A key difference, however, is that unlike the latter, the archival style comes with two top handles. It is also slightly more capacious, thanks to the generous depth.
Measuring 39 cm wide and 24 cm high, the large version offers more than enough space for daily essentials. The accompanying zip pouch further provides security for cards, cash and keys. While more compact at 33 cm by 20 cm, the medium size retains the same alluring proportions and fluid elegance. This also makes it ideal for evenings or when you need an easy grab-and-go.
For now, Bottega Veneta’s Campana comes in Beetroot, Black, Dark Barolo, Nocciola and Sea Salt. A slight switch up in hues from the usual contenders like Fondant and Travertine, this is definitely one to watch this season. Prices for the medium and large sizes start at SGD6480 and SGD8700 respectively.
