Far from the polished perfection you typically associate with new shoes, Balenciaga's new Hamptons Worn-Out Sneaker embraces a deliberate lived-in aesthetic. With a unique array of distinctive elements, it is undoubtedly polarising yet undeniably compelling.

The construction of the sneaker features a combination of cowskin and polyester. The natural feel of leather juxtaposing against the resilience of synthetic fabric results in footwear that prioritises comfort and practicality. This is even in spite of the intentionally distressed appearance.

If you take a closer look at the Hamptons Worn-Out Sneaker, the deconstructed narrative is evident in the raw edges. Purposefully exposed visible stitching on the shoe’s upper also highlights the ‘worn-out’ construction techniques. Haphazardly scribbled laces further emphasises this deliberate ageing, as if personalised over numerous wears.

Despite its distressed appearance, the sneaker firmly roots itself in the Balenciaga universe through prominent branding. Besides embossed logos on the shoe tongue and outsole, the signature 3B sports icon, now a staple of Balenciaga sneakers, marks the sides. Finally, the rather utilitarian detail of the shoe size is debossed on the upper and back of the heel.

Priced at SGD1250, Balenciaga’s Hamptons Worn-Out Sneaker comes in sizes ranging from 35 to 41 for ladies and 39 to 46 for men. There are plenty of colours to look forward to as well, with standout classics in black, dark grey and white, along with lighter options of brown and off-white.
