As Fendi marks its centennial, it takes bold strides into the future while drawing from its storied heritage. Nowhere is this more evident than in its summer 2025 collection, which revisits Karl Lagerfeld’s debut ready-to-wear collection for the Italian fashion brand in spring/summer 1978.
Though never shown on the runway, the inaugural line lives on through Historie d’Eau. The cinematic love letter to Rome set the tone for Fendi’s enduring romance with style and storytelling. This season, the film’s evocative sun-drenched palette inspires a collection that channels the Italian seaside. Hues like coral red, sandy terracotta, seafoam, buttermilk, iced lemon and ocean blue take centrestage.

In the women’s range, breezy fabrics take on sculptural shapes and nature-inspired embellishments. One of these is red coral, a recurring detail on necklines and jewellery. Referencing an archival motif in Historie d’Eau, it also forms ornate bandana florals and giant underwater blooms via playful prints.

Silhouettes borrow from the glamour of 1970s Rome, expressing a relaxed elegance through cocooning jackets, tank dresses, twisted pencil skirts and flowing beach tunics. Sportif influences, such as laser-cut floral chambray denim and patchwork FF silk jacquards, further punctuate the collection with contemporary energy.
The menswear also leans into beachside nostalgia, with coral and sand striped knitwear, as well as vintage postcard graphics across stand collar mid-sleeve shirts and matching silk shorts.
Accessories continue the narrative of a sun-soaked summer. Footwear and oversized hats evoke timeless vacation ease, while raffia, a summer staple, is reimagined through intricate craftsmanship. The new Summer Tote debuts alongside refreshed Fendi icons, such as the Peekaboo, Baguette and By The Way, in two-tone colourways exuding maritime charm.
For the finishing touch, add a dash of Fendi whimsy to your bags with a selection of charms. Irresistible options include origami leather fish, charm chains with seaside talismans and a plush jellyfish design.
