With Chanel’s spring-summer 2025 collection arriving in boutiques very soon, it’s time to check out some of the French fashion house’s key bags for the season. One clear standout is the Chanel 25, a quilted hobo bag that debuted at Chanel’s symbolic return to the Grand Palais in Paris.
Like its predecessors, the Chanel 19 and Chanel 22, the Chanel 25 gets its name from its launch year. Need a quick overview of this classic-in-the-making? Here are five things to know about the bag.

01 - The Chanel 25 is a versatile style chameleon, changing its look depending on how you view it. From the front, the leather-interlaced chain strap with Chanel’s inimitable hardware doubles up as an closure mechanism. But when you turn it to the side, a much slimmer profile reveals itself. Flanking this are additional pockets for storing your mobile phones, cards and other bits and bobs.
02 - Signature codes of the house are evident throughout. For example, the diamond quilting inspired by Mademoiselle Chanel’s love for the equestrian world. Then there’s the gold-tone hardware throughout. Finally, CC logos that adorn the side pockets, drawstring pull tab and a cleverly concealed zipper pouch tucked within.
03 - For spring-summer 2025, the Chanel 25 in grained calfskin will come in a myriad of colours. This includes neutral black and white, green and pink pastels, as well as beige and yellow, perfect for summertime fun. A silver metallic option will also be part of the line-up, together with new iterations in washed denim for a casual twist.
04 - The the multi-pocket hobo bag will come in three sizes. If you need a gauge on the dimensions, the medium size measures 40 cm wide and 30 cm high. There are currently no exact dimensions for the small and large sizes, so stay tuned for more information closer to the official launch date in Singapore.
05 - Wearing the Chanel 25 is easy. Thanks to the leather-interlaced chain strap, you can sling the bag over the shoulder or simply hold it by hand like the models did when they walked down the spring-summer 2025 runway. Relaxed and roomy, the Chanel 25 is poised to become the season's absolute must-have.
