Popular Pop Mart The Monsters character Labubu is back with a new Let’s Checkmate collection just in time for Valentine’s Day. Inspired by the game of chess, Labubu and her mischievous monster friends dress up as different chess pieces. Ready to play? Here are four releases to know from the collection that launches on 7 February 2025.
01 - The Monsters Let’s Checkmate Series - Vinyl Plush Doll, SGD109.90
Starting with the largest offering in the Let’s Checkmate line-up, this brown furry Labubu with twinkling, shiftable blue eyes is dressed to be the queen of your heart. She dons a royal red and gold heart-detailed crown and removable red cape with white details.
For the special occasion, she holds a red Labubu ring box that you can fill with a ring of your choice to present to your loved one. It's also worth noting that this Labubu has adjustable legs. This means that she can sit or stand at a height of 33 cm and 37 cm respectively.
02 - The Monsters Let’s Checkmate Series - Vinyl Plush Hanging Card, SGD37.90
You can also show your love with this 17 cm Labubu plush pendant. Wearing yellow fur, she sports a heart-detailed pink crown and holds a matching furry pink heart.
The pendant also comes complete with a yellow ring clasp for easy accessorising. To complete the look, a baby-blue bow wraps Labubu up, thus making her gift-ready.
03 - The Monsters Let’s Checkmate Series - Pendant Blind Box, SGD13.90
Then come these 42 cm duo-chain pendants with Labubu charms which are sold in blind boxes. In other words, the content remains a mystery until you purchase and open it
In this series, Labubu and friends dress as chess pieces. You have a 1:6 chance of finding the six regular designs, namely King, Queen, Knight, Bishop, Rook and Pawn. Whereas the probability of drawing the rare secret item, Bond, is 1:72.
04 - The Monsters Let’s Checkmate Series - Fridge Magnet Blind Box, SGD11.90
Bags and phones aren’t the only things you can accessorise. The Let’s Checkmate collection also offers a line of magnets that let you spruce up your fridge or embellish other suitable surfaces.
Similar to the Pendant Blind Box, the Fridge Magnet Blind Box features Labubu and friends dressing as chess pieces. There are seven magnets in total to collect, including a secret design. Each magnet measures 8 cm high and showcases a The Monsters character against a checkered background. Cute!
