The Parisian leather handbag label, Polène Paris, opens its first London store near Piccadilly Circus. Like its predecessors in Paris, New York, Tokyo and Seoul, this spacious new boutique showcases the brand's minimalist leather goods collections and timeless jewellery lines.

Spanning 415 sqm, the two-storey space is elegantly styled in the maison’s signature palette of beige, camel and cognac hues. Reflecting a soft brutalist aesthetic and celebrating the creativity of leather, the design is courtesy of WGNB. The South Korean studio was also responsible for creating the Seoul boutique.
Like its popular bags, the elegant space features minimalist lines with rounded shapes. A backdrop of Corten steel and concrete finishes frame displays of bags, SLGs and jewellery. The space also emphasises the brand’s commitment to reusing leather, incorporating 930 KG of upcycled leather seamlessly into the décor.

On the first floor, for example, an entire wall is lined with bricks made from compressed leather scraps. A statement table, crafted from 230 KG of leather fragments from workshops in Ubrique, Spain (where artisans handmake Polène bags), further showcases the brand’s leather expertise.
A staircase with a woven leather banister then leads to the second floor. The work of artisans from Alma Studio, a renowned British workshop specialising in leather-based furnishings, this tactile design element utilised a meticulous tubular braiding technique that took over five weeks.
Besides shopping crowd-favourite bags like the crescent-shape Numéro Dix and Tonca, the new store offers a Plèi upcycled leather experience. The creative concept uses a thermoforming machine to repurpose leather cut-offs into a trinket tray, which serves as a gift with any Polène bag purchase.
