Stepping away from the expected once again, Rimowa introduces two daring shades for the Essential collection. Back in April, many swooned over tropical hues of Mint and Papaya. This time, the German luggage maker opts for a play in contrasts with mesmerising Nautical and unexpected Ginger.
Officially launching on 28 November worldwide, Nautical is a midnight blue echoing the depths of Scandinavian waters. Ginger carries a tinge of yellow reminiscent of Copenhagen’s historical charm. This interplay of colours embodies Rimowa’s constant quest to provide dynamic and unexpected travel companions wherever you go.
The new shades will appear on the Cabin, Check-In L and Trunk Plus in the Essential polycarbonate range. If you need a quick refresher, the compact Cabin measures 55 cm by 39 cm, while the larger offerings come in at 77.5 cm by 51 cm and 80 cm by 37 cm respectively. As always, they feature a glossy monochromatic finish, with tone-on-tone handles, zippers and exterior shell.

To mark this exciting release, Rimowa partners with Ptolemy Mann to produce a limited series of 1,000 individually numbered suitcases. Using a technical ink layering process to mimic the famed British artist’s brushstrokes, it features ‘Threshold’, a textural artwork Mann designed specifically for the Essential Cabin in Nautical. On the interior, Rimowa’s signature Flex Divider showcases the same brushstroke effect.
The Essential Cabin ‘Threshold’ will retail at SGD2020, while the standard options start at SGD1260 for the Cabin, going up to SGD1590 for the Check-In L and SGD2010 for the Trunk Plus.
