Matthieu Blazy previously celebrated literary icons by dedicating a Bottega Veneta capsule collection to New York City’s legendary Strand Bookstore. The Italian fashion house now turns its attention to the enchanting world of children’s literature in partnership with beloved American author and illustrator, Richard Scarry.
Scarry captivates generations of young readers with his richly detailed illustrations, enchanting worlds and accessible storytelling. Matthieu Blazy, himself a fan, draws inspiration from the whimsical characters and vibrant colours that define the author’s legacy. Together, the duo unite to produce the fun Bottega Veneta Richard Scarry capsule collection.
The headline piece is the limited-edition oversized replica of the 2013 edition of the ‘Biggest Word Book Ever!’. Measuring a whopping 62.5 cm high and 42.5 cm wide, the book cover features Lowly Worm. The charming character is famous for his distinctive style of a Tyrolean hat and red bowtie, which Matthieu Blazy called ‘the best outfit in the world’. Complementing the cover is Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato weave in a bright, bold shade of orange.
The Richard Scarry Maxi Book is available for pre-order at SGD6080, while a second sketchbook version with the same intrecciato cover comes in at SGD5220. The latter invites you to showcase your creativity with blank pages for drawing and sketching. There’s also an option to personalise the name tag and make it your own.
