Fans of Sanrio are no strangers to the Japanese entertainment company’s Latte Kuma Baby collection. The kawaii line-up features popular characters, such as Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll, as soft latte-coloured bears. Too cute to resist? Here’s a quick guide to everything you need to know about the collectible plush pendants.
01 - Established in 2020, Top Toy is best known for their collectible toys. In particular, those that come in blind boxes, sealed packagings that keep their contents a mystery until opened.
02 - To date, Top Toy has released several Sanrio-themed blind boxes. This includes collector favourites such as the Sanrio Characters Snack Planet and Sanrio Characters Fantasy Carousel figurines.
03 - The focus of today’s post are the trending Sanrio Characters Latte Baby plush pendants. First launched in August 2024, the Top Toy series features six different Sanrio characters. There are no ‘secret’ editions to this series so you can easily collect them all.
04 - With this blind box format, you have a 1:6 chance of finding each design. They comprise Hello Kitty Strawberry Latte, Cinnamoroll Sea Salt Latte, Kuromi Taro Latte, My Melody Peach Latte, Pochacco Mint Latte and Pompompurin Pudding Latte. The latte-inspired names also reflect their different colours.
05 - Each plush pendant measures approximately 15.5 cm in height and comes in a standing position. They feature articulated hands and feet, thus letting you easily adjust and pose them however you like. They also come fitted with a ring clasp for easy accessorising as a bag charm or keychain.
06 - Another fun feature is the cosy get-up they come in. Each doll comes in a matching coloured pyjama onesie. For example, Hello Kitty dons in a light red outfit complete with her signature bow and Pompompurin wears a yellow suit with his trademark brown beret. The outfits are removable, so you can also personalise your doll.
07 - Finally comes the bad news. While individual Sanrio Character Latte Baby blind boxes retail at RMB99, there are no Top Toy stores in Singapore at the moment. But when there’s a will, there’s always a way. Or Taobao.
