In 1976, Girard-Perregaux introduced a daring departure from conventional horology. Evoking the spirit of futuristic automotive design, the Casquette was undeniably ahead of its time. Its distinctive tubular LED display and integrated bracelet redefined the very concept of wristwear. This year, in a surprising and exclusive collaboration, Saint Laurent Rive Droite introduces the Casquette 2.0.
Limited to a production of 8200 pieces, the original Casquette quickly garnered a cult following. Its blend of avant-garde design and cutting-edge technology made it a coveted collectible for watch enthusiasts. Decades later, in 2022, Girard-Perregaux revisited this iconic model, breathing new life into the Casquette with the Casquette 2.0.
Clad in a robust black ceramic case and integrated Grade 5 titanium bracelet, this reimagined timepiece retained the essence of the original while incorporating contemporary refinements. Produced in extremely limited numbers, the Casquette 2.0 solidified its status as a rare and desirable object of desire.
Two years on, Saint Laurent Rive Droite introduces a silver-grey titanium edition of the Casquette 2.0. Limited to just 200 pieces worldwide, this timepiece is a testament to the enduring appeal of the OG design. Dreamt up by Anthony Vaccarello, this collaboration represents a new chapter in Girard-Perregaux’s rich history as it continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking.
