Welcome to #BEBEinsider, a series where friends share what beauty products they’re really loving. For August, Singapore’s electronic pop princess Jasmine Sokko shares five of her favourite skincare products.

The singer-songwriter who burst onto the music scene in 2016 opened for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres tour in Singapore earlier in the year and most recently represented our nation at the Round Music Festival in South Korea.

01 - Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator, SGD26 for 15 ML
“I was consulting my makeup artist Larry Yeo about my dry skin, and he recommended this lightweight, gel-cream. The refreshing moisture boost it instantly gave my skin had me hooked and it’s now my go-to for keeping my skin hydrated and plump throughout the day.

It packs hyaluronic acid and activated aloe water that helps my skin retain moisture and it also absorbs quickly. I apply a generous amount to my face and neck both morning and night. For times when I need an extra hydration boost, I’ll apply a thicker layer before going to bed.” CLINIQUE

02 - Isdin Fotoprotector Fusion Water Magic SPF50/PA++++, SGD45.90 for 50 ML
“I’ve tried many sunscreens over the years, and this is my absolute must-have. This offers high UV protection while feeling incredibly lightweight and non-greasy on the skin. It also doesn’t clog my pores, making it a staple.

I apply it as the last step in my morning skincare routine, making sure to cover my face, neck and any exposed areas. It also works great as a primer if I’m applying makeup.” ISDIN

03 - Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, from SGD20 for 25 ML
“This has been my go-to since junior college. As a student who stayed up late juggling ‘A’ levels and making music, my skin was very dry. I was searching for something effective that wouldn’t break the bank when I found this.

There’s nothing like a skin-rejuvenating overnight mask that makes my sleep feel productive. I apply a thick layer over my face and neck as the last step of my nighttime routine, then rinse off any residue in the morning for fresh, dewy skin. I also sometimes apply this before boarding a long flight to keep my skin hydrated throughout the journey.” LANEIGE

04 - Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser, SGD20 for 90 ML
“I’ve always been drawn to Philosophy’s clean and minimalist design, so I gave this a try. This cleanser is a multi-tasker that acts as both a makeup remover and cleanser. After using it habitually for three years, I can’t imagine my routine without it. It’s my holy grail for making my skin feel clean, soft and balanced.

I use their Pore Purifying Cleanser during the day, and this one at night. I massage a small amount onto damp skin for about a minute before rinsing off with lukewarm water. For heavier makeup days, I double cleanse to ensure all residue is removed.” PHILOSOPHY

05 - SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, SGD133 for 75 ML
“I’ve always found the story of how Pitera was discovered fascinating. The product’s star ingredient is derived from a unique yeast fermentation process uncovered by chance in a sake brewery, where the youthful-looking hands of aged sake brewers led to its creation. Also, I grew up watching mum use this product and since she has amazing skin, it inspired me to try it for myself.

After cleansing and before moisturising, I pour the product onto my palms and press it into my skin. I like how it makes my skin feel more radiant and even toned. I used to under-apply a lot, but now I’m figuring out the right amount and adjusting accordingly.” SK-II
