Loewe’s ongoing Surplus Project transcends mere sustainability. A revolution in resourcefulness, the challenge lies in transforming leftovers into breathtaking new creations. Loewe’s skilled artisans see these materials not as scraps, but as an opportunity for artistic expression. This year, the Spanish fashion house debuts the one-of-a-kind Flamenco Surplus.

The Flamenco bag epitomises function and versatility with its effortlessly malleable design. Firstly, it works as a clutch, shoulder and crossbody bag, seamlessly adapting to your style needs. The signature cinched closure further features two coiled knots at the side that serve a dual purpose. While paying homage to Loewe’s rich history, the clever detail also functions as the bag’s drawstring pull.
The hallmarks of the Flamenco remain in the Surplus edition, but with an eco-conscious twist. it blends surplus nappa calfskin and suede from previous collections. After meticulously cutting, compressing and skiving the leather, the resulting rippled surface reveals subtle colour variations. This effect evokes the beauty of rock strata, a subtle homage to Spain’s natural world and enduring landscapes.
