For spring-summer 2024, Givenchy injects a dose of maximalist cool into the world of shoulder bags with the Voyou. This relatively new style at the French fashion house isn’t your typical arm candy. Rather, it’s a statement piece that blends edgy details for the right balance of form and function.
The name itself translates to ‘bad boy’ in French. This cheeky moniker perfectly captures the spirit of the bag, complete with metallic buckle closures that channel a rebellious air. Appearing in over-the-top proportions flanking the flap, they give off add an air of hardware glamour. In other words, it’s the perfect accessory for adding a touch of attitude to your everyday outfit.
Now, the Voyou Shoulder Bag wouldn’t be a true Givenchy creation without some signature details. A subtle embossing of the 4G emblem adorns the back, while the front displays the GIVENCHY logo in silver lettering. Of course, the use of box calfskin leather further adds to its allure, imparting a glossy finish reminiscent of the high-shine Antigona bags from the brand’s storied archives.
Measuring 30 cm wide and 15 cm high, it opens via the magnetic closure to reveal a roomy compartment with a single card slot inside. The accompanying shoulder strap with a 25 cm drop length wears comfortably over the shoulder. Otherwise, detach the strap to convert it from a daytime shoulder bag to an evening clutch in one step.
